Job Description
The Metal Fabrication Labourer is responsible for participating in all activities as a member of the Welding and Fabrication division of the company
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed work instructions
- Use hand tools, including grinding and sanding type tools
- Use cut-off saw for metal and aluminum
- Clean, QC, and check component parts for any defects.
- Remove metal and prepare materials for welding by grinding and beveling
- Use a gravity fed paint gun
- Ensure all equipment is clean and functional
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment
- Assist welding staff on support issues related to welding
- Other related tasks and duties as required
- Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of him/herself and of other workers present while at work and cooperate with the employer for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of him/herself and other workers.
Education/Experience:
- Hold a valid grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably weld shop
- 1+ years of direct related work experience
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Fabrication and detail-oriented
- Manual dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Workshop where there is a potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and high noise.
- Wear and use personal protective equipment when in the workshop.
- Follow various company policies and procedures including adherence to high safety standards.
Criminal Background Check will be performed prior to hiring applicant.
Company completes random drug testing.
